Sam Vickery

Account Strategist

As a marathon runner, Sam Vickery knows that planning ahead and refining that plan based on data is key to improving your results, and he brings that same discipline, commitment, and data-driven approach to his role as an Account Strategist.
What is your background?

I have been working in various disciplines of marketing for about 6 years now! I got my start in the world of real estate photography which then led to a marketing role at a brokerage in my hometown of Durango, Colorado. I moved to Austin in January 2022 to work at a consultancy and from there came to (un)Common Logic. In addition to a marketing career, I also raced mountain bikes professionally through the majority of my early 20’s. I love how the two go hand in hand, both emphasizing the payoff of consistent marginal gains.

What are your responsibilities at (un)Common Logic?

I help our clients achieve their business goals through data-driven marketing.

What's your favorite thing about working at (un)Common Logic?

Working with smaller businesses is where I feel I make the most impact. Having said that, whatever the size or maturity of the business I'm working with, it is always rewarding to me to see our work help each business progress toward its goals.

What's the most challenging aspect of your job?

Digital marketing is always changing! It is a fine balance of consistent strategy and making sure you are staying on the curve of nuance in the industry.

What makes Austin special?

Moving to Austin on my own made me realize how amazing the community is here. I have come across such a wide range of passionate people from artists to athletes to professionals that all make life in Austin exciting.

Anything big happening this year outside of work?

Believe it or not I have never left the US! I have a great trip to Europe planned for summer 2024 to backpack the Tour du Mont Blanc which takes you through France, Switzerland, and Italy as you circumnavigate the peak.
